Knowing that the wife would never accept her husband the way he is, she arranged to reveal his secret by luring the wife to the cave underneath her husband's woodlands cabin where he locks himself to wait out the change. You find out that he is a warewolf and while his wife didn't know her sister who has always loved the hunter did. I just did the Velen side quest Wild at Heart where you investigate the disappearance of a hunter's wife. Please, only spoilers pertaining to the quest.
